    Is a 16 year old running away on his own, is that abdonment?
    Say if a 16 year old runs away.. Then mother/father get served with papers for abandonment. Is that right?

    A parent is responsible for a child until they reach 18. It may be possible to be charged with abandonment if they do nothing to find the child. Without knowing the full story or the location its hard to be more specific.
