Men watch porn because they are visual creatures or sexually aroused by seeing rather than feeling like us women usually are. For the most part, both men and women use it to help them masturbate or to "get ideas" they can use with their sex partners.

Apparently it's similar to romantic novels for women. It's also used for masturbation mainly.

EXPIATION means atonement. Much like a catholic would say a hail mary to atone for a sin.
