Salaried non exempt employee in Florida
I work in an insurance agency in Lakeland Florida as a commercial account manager, a non supervisory position however I do hold a professional license. I am told I am salaried, we get paid monthly and is usually the same amount each month. Our normal work week is 37.5 hours. I have used all my sick and vacation time and have missed some hours for Dr appts and a few days due to illness. I have had my pay checks docked for the time missed, I believe that they calculated it by taking my gross annual salary and dividing it up by hours to determine the amount to be docked. When asked if I could work lunches to make up some of the time, I was told we are salaried and therefore could not and they do not pay overtime. Can I be docked pay for time missed?
