Trying to find a movie without knowing the title?
A teacher is offered a post in a remote community. The children drag their feet on the ground as if they are scared to lift them up, which irritates her. There are constant hints about "the old country" where the community came from, but no-one will answer any questions about it. Finally she gets the children to draw their memories of the old country and finally realises they are alien refugees who want to make a new life on earth. On discovering they can be accepted by humans, the leader of the community empties a sack of dirt from their former planet as a sign of a new beginning.
