Puppy eating everything in sight, inside and outside
I have a Blue Heeler 14weeks puppy, she is always picking up things to eat. A thread of carpet pulls off and eats, eats paper, plants, dry leaves, lumps of sand. I live on a bush block and she picks up lots of stuff and eats. Has eaten a rubber thong. Don't know how to stop her.

Don't leave things like that on the ground. It is a puppy, when you were a baby you stuck things in your mouth too.

She needs to be very, very closely supervised before she manages to block her own intestines.

Have you treated her for worms? Dogs with intestinal parasites aren't getting the nourishment they need, so they often turn to other "forms" of food.

My newset dog is now 20 months is is just reaching a stage where I can drop some constant supervision. Puppies will chew out of boredom or new teeth driving them nuts. Crate her, exercise her and train her.
