My kitchen light is turning itself on even when the switch is turned off. I turned off the breaker to the kitchen. Any idea as to what the problem might be?

Ghosts. Definitely a ghost. But really, go call an electrician if you are that worried about it. It is bad wiring in your walls or a bad connection.

If the switch is a deco switch, the rocker arm is worn and making contact over a wider range. Replace switch and see if this corrects problem.

Chuck is correct, this is no biggie for most home owners who want some help from us. No need to call anyone in if you know how to swap out a swicth starting with killing the breaker.
