What does post placenta at 36 weeks mean and is it normal?
I had an usg at 36 weeks pregnancy on 5/12/2011 today and the report says that I have a post placenta. I want to know that it is normal or not

    Hi kohlireema,

It means that the placenta is located at the rear, or posterior, wall of the uterus. It is not unusual, and shouldn't be a problem for your birth. The main situation when a placenta's location may cause a problem is when it happens to be lying very low, near or over the cervix. If this were the case, your midwife or doctor would have mentioned it to you as you would be discussing a c-section for the birth.
