LAYBACK or just plain LAZY
I have trouble disconnecting these two words and there meaning. As I understand, they both have the same if not similar counterproductive characteristics - slow, idle, slothful, disorganized and so forth.
For example: on a domestic level, is it layback or just plain lazy not to change a bath towel and clean a bathroom after two - three weeks use? Alternatively, when you know that a stove element needs replacing and you get around to it after six weeks? Or perhaps, be told to remove the mould building up in your dentures container.
Whatever the label is, this behaviour appears disharmonious, and conflicts with the conscious organised domestic partner; whilst the offender lives in bliss without the slightest regard for boundaries and wellbeing of others. Nor do they have the intellectual capacity for basic standards of congenial living and respect for property period.
Yet when confronting the offender with the word lazy a tirade of abuse flows forth along with citations of how hard they work in their job! Hence being lazy has no appealing charm attached to it; unlike being layback has its virtues because it makes them look flexible, a great mate - easy going and the other person more difficult and or fussy.
