I have a need to find 2 movies: they are both from the 40's and up, black and white: the first one is with Gregory Peck; he plays an air force general, who leads his men on air raids, including a preacher who sneaks aboard a plane to take part! In this movie there is one man who is constantly getting his stripes taken away and returned
The second is a movie about a college player who was either leaves or is kidnapped and returns towards the end of the movie with the help of and old man and his jalopy! I don't now the names of any actors, but there is a main actor who was in multiple movies, he sings and plays the trumpet as though he was Louis Armstrong but he's white, and the school mascot is a brown bear who is looked after by a black man wearing a white fur coat.
