My wife will be going to Sandiego for Some school and her ex-boyfriend wants to hangout. But she wouldn't allow me to talk to a girl that is my brothers friend that I met at a camping trip and over at my brother house hanging out to me she is just a friend. I feel this is a Double Standard issue?

SO how can I bring this up to her without her blowing up and her thinking I'm just being Jealous?

What has she heard about the camping trip?

On the surface it sounds like a double standard. However, would more background information change that perception?

What are her expectations of meeting up with her ex? Is it once to catch up and then nothing more? Are they planning to be in a public place?

Have you ever given her reason to not trust you around other women especially in a private home? Has this female given any indication that she would be open to more than friendship? Has your brother tried to cause issues in your marriage?

If you have never given her a reason to suspect you of cheating and the female sees you as just another friend, then yes, it does appear to be a double-standard.

Alls I can say is that marriage is all about yielding to eachothers needs. When you married each other you vowed that you would now live for the interests and hapiness of that mate. Neither one of you at any time should find it acceptable to make the other unfomfortable by meeting with an Ex which you should no longer have any personal dealings with (unless you have a child with your Ex, then that could become a little more tricky). But the Principle is the same, if you make sure and you go out of your way to yield to your wife's insucurities in certain situations, then she should be doing the same thing for you, period.
