I live in an 8 year old home, and I am on well. This morning when I was filling the tub for my son's bath I noticed our water pressure was really low. We do have a water softner and filter system. The water pressure was fine last night. Any thoughts on why there would be the sudden drop in pressure?

What's the cut off point in the control box? Have you tried bypassing, first the softener, and then the filter system to see if they're at fault? Let me know what you find, Good luck, Tom

The pressure gauge near the tank is reading 55psi. I'm not sure how to bypass the water softner/filter systems. An suggestions?

Let me show you how to bypass the softener,(see image.)
All bypases have the same basic design. Yours may look different but they all work the same.
When the softener's in the system valve 1 and 3 are open and valve 3 is closed.
To bypass the softener close valves 1 and 3 and open valve number 2.
That's all there is to it, There should by bypass valves on the filter system so you can clean and replace the filters. Let me know if it helps. Good luck, Tom
