My explorer brake lights are stuck on. Is this something typical with an explorer? I have already unpluged the wire to the brake switch. Is the switch some I can get at the local automotive store?

Likely a dealer part. Try spraying the old one with WD-40 first.

I have an 2004 Eddie Bauer Explorer and 3 times have had the brake lights stuck on after turning off car. The battery died twice and the last time I wwas able to get it to a dealer before the battery died.
The part is cheap with an hour's worth of labor.
Paid twice, the last time was free. Not fun
