I think it's about 5 to 10 years old or even a bit longer than that.

The story sets in Cape Town, South Africa in a bio lab where a group of terrorists broke in and stole the deadly virus during the moment which the cure has just been developed.
The group then spreads the virus across Africa. A team of people are sent from the US to Africa to investigate. Not soon after, the virus turns up on US soil then there is an order to drop a nuclear bomb to wipe out the whole Africa off the map. However, at the end of the movie, the good guys manage to kill the cult leader and break off the nuclear code prism to stop the launch.

Sounds a tiny bit like Twelve Monkeys, although I'm not convinced.
