How nervous are you about your performance? Is this with one woman, more than one?

Personally I'd say that this was probably down to subconscious performance worries. Have you tried letting penetration happen naturally? By this I mean, not moving on from foreplay to move and insert your penis, but continuing foreplay while on top of your partner, moving against them as you kiss, touch and fondle with no intention of moving onto intercourse. As you move against each other you are bound to inadvertently and slowly penetrate your partner and you can continue making the same movements until you are comfortable and 'caught up in the moment'. I do not know if this would work for you, but I'm sure that it is probably worth a try. Good luck! :-) and try not to worry - I'm sure your partner is very understanding.

Do you get annual physicals? I know a lot of people you age think if you are feeling good, there is nothing wrong.

Two key points of note being blood pressure and blood sugar (diabetes).

Of course the other conscience and subconscious issues mentioned by others might be at play as well.

Get a physical for sure, but this is probably all psychological i.e. Performance Anxiety.
