I'd be very careful about this one. She's been with this guy for 3 years and they are cohabitating. It sounds like you'd potentially get caught up in a triangle which is never a good thing. You didn't finish your last sentence but I assume it was meant to end with a derogatory noun. If that's the case, then why is she still with this guy? Sorry, but I'd wait until she's totally free and clear of this guy, if that ever even happens, before making any kind of move.

You can be friends at work, but I warn you about misreading a females intentions. You do not want to be part of her drama or jeopardise your job so leave this alone. No matter what she says she lives with another.

If you can continue to stay just friends at work, great - Enjoy that friendship but no more than that.

If her situation is as bad as she portrays, that's not a mess you want to get pulled into. It will only further complicate a difficult situation and in the end, if you do choose to cross over that line, you may end up not only without a relationship, but may loose her as a friend as well.
