I was wondering why are birthdays important especially for children?
They celebrate one's completion of another year of life.
... and look forward to a coming year of joy and fun and happiness, thus birthday wishes from friends and relatives, and the birthday person closing his eyes and making a wish before he blows out the candles on his cake.
And in once since, it is important because as a society we have made them such. If you lived in a society where there was no party, nothing special done, it would just be another day.
For some, certain birthdays such as 12, or 18 or 21 in some society have meanings , manhood, or being a adult and so on.
The commercial nature of most modern society, you have large sections in stores with party supplies, You are shown richer parties with live bands, pony rides or bounce houses. Even my business hosts "Karate" parties. You look at Pizza places with games and hosts parties.
So society is being sold what a party has to be, and kids began to expect it, or the most their parents can do with their income.
So birthdays for kids are they way they are, since marketing companies have sold us on the idea that they should be that way.
And by the way, mention this post for 10 percent off your next Karate party , ( LOL)
