The TV was working last night. Woke up this morning and went to turn it on... nothing! No red light, nothing. Anyone else seen this? I tried with the remote and the old fashioned method of pushing the power button on the TV itself, but no luck.

Unplug it for a while then plug it back in and try again.

If you get a blinking red light let us know how many times it blinks.

A lack of a standby light can be the power supply or the main board. Most likely the power supply though.

Yes I agree. The first step is to eliminate the power supply. Just put a fresh fuse into the 3 pin plug.

I found a new power cord and used that... all is well now! Thank you for the advice.

Hm... what happened to the power cord? I've not run into any that have spontaneously gone bad. Was it pinched or something?

I have no idea. It didn't look pinched or damaged in any way.

Well, at any rate, I'm glad it's working now. :)

Yeah, I am too... but I wish I knew why, you know? Because right now I don't have confidence that when I push the button the thing will power up.
