    Williams gas valves
I have a Williams wall furnace model # 1403612 it needs a new gas valve. The valve in the furnace is a Itt general TV27RA46 I have a new ITT General RA27RB37. They look Identical... the replacement for both valves is the same Replaces all TV27 series valves. Instead of spending 200.00 on a new valve will my other valve work?

    Thanks

If the replacement is the same it should work. I have watched techs strip out an old valve and replace it with another brand and it works. Regardless of the heater name, there are only a couple of valve manufacturers. I would be more careful of newer systems but for older units it seems to work well. Just be very careful with the gas and use plenty of pipe dope or Gas rated teflon tape. Let us know how it works please. Thanks, Brian
