Flushed toilet only refills when cold water in tub is turned on
Have a small home with 1 1/2 baths. Toilet in main bathroom was quickly taking longer to refill. Then it would only refill when the cold water was turned on in the bathtub (same bathroom). Now it won't refill at all. Shower has a cold/hot pressure value to keep from scalding but that doesn't seem to be working as well now either. Other toilet (which is only feet from the water shut off) is flushing OK but notice it's now taking longer to refill. Also, the cold water pressure throughout the remainder of the house is now getting increasingly lower. Hot water seems to be fine in all areas of the house. Only plumbing changes I have made recently was replacing the hot water cartridge in the faucet at the kitchen sink, but unsure if that's related to this cold water problem in any way or just a mere timing coincidence. Anything you can suggest would help, as I know very little about plumbing but am not afraid to try. Thanks! Trish

Tell us more about your house. Howe old? What material are the pipes? Pump or city water? Water softener or house filter? Answer me and I'll answer you. Regards, Tom

Hi, Tom. House is about 50 years old. Pipes are both pvc and metal. City sewer. No water softener. No filter. Any suggestion you can provide is most greatly appreciated. Thanks Trisha

My bad! I should have asked this in my last post. Which ballcock is yours? Cheers, Tom

Does your sink have an aerator, if so remove it and tell us if you find any debris. Debris in the other valves could be your issue, all of which we can help fix.
