Children's TV show set in a Toy Shop.
Basically I can remember a TV show from my childhood set in an old toy shop. It was owned by an old man and in the intro the shop would be full of kids, and then the old man would close the shop and all the toys would come to life. I have been searching for this for AGES and before you ask... no it's not called Noddy's or The Secret Life of Toys.
I'm pretty sure all the toys were scared of a dark part of the shop and in one episode one of the toys either fell or got put there and it turned out that it was just full of old toys and it was nothing to be scared of all along (I am prepare to admit this may be a false memory but I'm convinced it's not).
    PLEASE HELP

Sounds a bit like Mr. Rodgers Neighborhood. The toys come to life and they have lovely chats.

It almost sounds like the show called "Today's Special" with the talking mouse. If the old man you are thinking about was a puppet of some sort that was a security guard named "Sam". I can't be certain that all the toys came to life but your description sounds remarkably close to this show.

I think it may be "Two Plus You". Here's some info on it:

Two Plus You was a math program to the best of my recollection. This program aired on TV Ontario, TVO, TVOntario. It featured on a boy named Eric and a girl named Debbie. A close friend of theirs was Mr. Bean who owned a Toy Shop. They would often visit him at the toy store. I found Mr. Bean not always to be overly friendly and downright curt with the kids sometimes. Eric probably deserved it though. No idea as to the real names of the characters/actors from this show. If you have any info - please e-mail me.

Here is how the theme went:

"Round the corner, down the lane,
let's go see Mr. Bean again.
Mr. Bean plus Eric makes two,
Two plus You (and you and you).
