I'm 35 weeks pregnant.been having braxton hicks for 4 days now,I also have diareah and needed to go the other day and couldn't, tried 30 min later still couldn't but felt the really bad urge to push, went to sleep had b/h all night and today went for a walk then to store and had to stop threw one but it didn't hurt I'm having really bad back pain on my right side,top half by were your bra would be, am I need to go to the hospital to check if I'm dilating or not or is it normal b/h? Please help.

Yes, call your doctor right away and see what is recommended. Sometimes labor pains on the early onset can mask itself and be in another part of the body. Back labor is very common. If your having spasms then make sure your doctor is aware of it. It never hurts to be on the safe side.

As I tell my patients who call me on the phone at the hospital... I cannot assess you over the phone. I have to SEE you to know whether these contractions are causing dilitation.

By all means, go to the labor and delivery department you are supposed to deliver at to get a proper assessment.

Even if the b/h aren't consistent in time like I had 4 yesterday 3 min apart then they stopped for a while and came back and the time keeps changing and yet I'm still having them and the back pain, is it the way I'm sitting? When I get up I get the b/h contraction and I have them non stop they don't go away but they're not close together 15- 25-30-sometimes 1 hour apart. Should I still call and ask to come in?and should I wait till Monday or call tomarrow?

Go now and get checked. Don't wait.

Make sure you are having a good deal to drink, as not having enough can cause you to feel more contractions. If you start to feel a few, change your activity. Go lie down, for example. Braxton Hicks will tend to subside.

If the contractions keep coming, then give your doctor's office a call and explain the situation. It is worth the peace of mind. They would rather you call, and have it be OK, than for you to wait and have it be something they would have liked to address earlier.

If they want you to go in, it's a simple check. They will use a monitor to see what is happening with contractions and also do an exam to see if there are any changes to your cervix.

Rule of thumb in pregnancy: When in doubt, and it causes you concern, it merits a phone call to the doctor's office... that is what they are there for.

It is quite possible the pain in your upper back is from trapped air, and/or pressure on your rib cage, and strained muscles. Try some pelvic rocks on your hands and knees where you are stretching your back upwards and tucking your lower pelvis under then flatten your back and repeat the stretch. You can also try stretching your arms over your head like you are trying to touch the ceiling to lift your rib cage or press against the wall with your palms and outstretched arms as you round your back to open that area up and gently stretch those muscles.
You might also find having someone apply counter pressure (just a steady pressure with their hands) or massage to that area helps as well or the use of a heating pad.
