Deposition

Depends on what is being heated. If it is, e.g. a Freon, it goes from the liquid to the gaseous state. If it is a liquid to start, e.g. benzene, it goes to a vapor state. Some solids, when heated, e.g. Iodine, sublimate and don't boil. What substance are you thinking about?
