I have a Victorian picture frame measureing about 16 by 12 wide which was left to me by my mother which she received from my grand mother. Can not find the makers mark any where and not sure if it is English or French. We have polished it or removed the tarnish and am not sure if it is plated, Sheffield plate or sterling. Any help you can give us to the marks would be fantasict. I have attached two pictures. One of the makers mark which is X D p each in a circle. Not sure if the first letter is an X or symbol.
