Civic cng conversion engine problems?
I am considering converting my 2006 Civic LX to a Gas/CNG car but have heard that the Civic-GX has different harder valves, head and pistons to compensate for the hotter operating temperatures of CNG. Is this true? I have been told that if the car is not already a multi-fuel vehicle that the temperatures will cause engine damage down the road in valve, head (different compression ratio?) and piston damage. On the other hand, I have heard that many, many Civics have been converted to gas/CNG vehicles from the standard gas model and I haven't heard of any actual problems. What are the facts?. Also, where can one buy a Type 3 or 4 CNG fuel tank at a reasonable price?. Any tips on installation? Any pictures?
