    Finding x-intercepts through factoring [help]
I need some help figuring out how to find the x-intercepts of a quadratic expression through factoring. Moreover, I could use some help finding the vertex as well. It would really help if it is explained mostly through words and more conversationally, when I see loads of numbers mixed in with text and all that my brain just signs out!

    Use this example problem: x^2 5x 6 = 0

    Thanks.

If you are missing some "+" signs from your express, then:

    X^2 + 5x + 6 = 0 would factor into (x+3)(x+2).

Can you take it from there?
