I used to read a children book with B&W illustrations back in the 80s. Now I don't remember the plots of all of this guy book but he have someone doing illustrations that were really amazing. Even though I am older now I want to read these books again but I don't remember who he is :(

OK one of the books there's a huge pumpkin and a flood in the town. A lot of his stories were really outlandish. That's all I can remember sigh.

Were they a series of poems in the books?

j9 no I don't remember any poem in the book it was a whole story but the books were not really long and they were large size book with very detailed B&W illustrations
