Toilet is in the basement. It flushes but it won't drain. The tank is full and it empties but
The bowl fills up but doesn't flush out. The water in the bowl eventually slowly drains out on its own and almost empties. I tried using a plunger but it didn't help. What can I try next?

Either try a closet auger in toilet, or your sewer is blocked on the branch the toilet is on if nothing else is backing up.

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you-called a plumber. He told me $350 because it was the weekend. I went to Home Depot and bought a 6 foot auger for $49. Fixed it in ten minutes.
