I relocated my toilet and is now 8' from where it was. Will the existing vent work? The vent is a 2". I also added a bathroom sink to the vent so I now have it as a wet vent. There is some other stuff tied to it so I sent a drawing.. Sorry not the greatest artist.

Where do you live, codes vary but most likely you are not up to code. Question, when you moved the toilet 8' how did you create an additional 2" needed in slope for the drain or did you just reconnect to the old location on the main drain? Are wet vents allowed in your location, call the building department and ask, sounds like to is being done without a permit so you be vague when asking.

I live in nj. I took out the lead bend that feed the old toilet and continued a 4" pvc pipe to the new location . 1/4" to a ft pitch. I realize it is probably not code and that the toilet should have its own 2" vent but I am not getting permits and was just trying to see if it would work.

    Hi Dweller

Wet venting is allowed in NJ, and most codes require between 8-10 feet as a maximum distance for a 4" toilet drain line so it sounds like you are all set here...;)

For what it is worth the 2" wet vent should connect into the drain line ABOVE THE CENTERLINE of the drain to be a real vent, so if your wet vent (sink drain) comes off the pipe at dead center then you really don't have a wet vent, but I think you'll be OK in this case, OK?
