Hello. I met this girl over a year ago in high school, and I instantly fell in love with her. Now we are friends, and I don't know if she feels the same way for me. I catch her eye almost anytime I look at her. She also sometimes stands next to me while in a group of our friends, and when we talk she usually smiles. Now I don't know what to think, as she will also sometimes kind of ignore me (it's not real ignoring, more like avoiding conversation), and I don't know if she wants to make me jealous as she hugs and talks with other guys sometimes in my presence. Also I compliment her, and she thanks me and smiles. Also when our friend told us that we are similar she kind of punched him, so I don't know what that means. I really don't know what to do, the two of us share a lot of common interests.

How old are you, and why have you not expressed interest by talking to her? You will never know where you stand, unless you talk to a female.

No one else in the world can tell you what's on a strangers mind but YOU, by talking to her.

We are both 17. I do talk with her, as I said we are friends. She usually smiles and looks me in the eyes when we do.

I would find out for sure if what she feels is what you feel, instead of being afraid to ask. Even if she doesn't share your feelings then at least you will know how to move forward.

Are you just friends because you want more, or can you be just a friend? It may not be so healthy to have a friend that you want more from, and she does NOT, but only one way to find out, and that's to ask.

At 17 seems you should have many friends besides her, because its oh so easy to fall deeply for one person you see a lot of.

The problem with the asking is that she is in a relationship, so I can't do that now, not until they break up.
Please don't tell something like forget her, as I won't do that, and there is no way persuading me so.

She sometimes acts like she really likes me, while sometimes she kind of ignores me as I previously said. And she knows I like her, as I hinted it lot's of times.

No one here will know the answer to that questions, the only way to find out is to ask her. So put on the steel balls and go for it man, worse thing she can say is "NO".
