I have a 2 month old pure breed Siberian Husky and he's not doing too well. He doesn't have any energy, he's not eating, he's barley drinking water, he threw up, and he has really bad diarrhea. Is there anything I can do to heal my puppy? Please help me, I would appreciate it.

Get it to a vet... now.

You are describing a very serious situation... it kills millions of people a year when Humans have it.

I would wait for someone with more veterinary knowledge than I have to offer advice what you might want to try. We have many that follow this forum. You will have other answers soon.

If you can't get the money or can't find a vet who will work out a payment plan for you then I think it's time this pup found a new home, he NEEDS to see a vet.

The most common cause of the symptoms you are describing is parvo. And really unless you get treatment ASAP, death is a sure thing. Without knowing 100% that it is parvo, treating at home could cause more issues OR not treat what is making him ill. It could also be giardia or coccidiosis, and with those and other parasites, they need to be treated by medication provided by your vet. When an animal is sick, and you cannot afford to provide the proper medical care, there comes a time when you might have to start thinking about surrendering the dog to someone who can financially care for him in times of illness or injury.

For the time being, get a thermometer and take your dogs temp. Yes this has to be done rectally. Holistic norm is anywhere from 100.5 to 101.5 anything else is either high or low grade. If your dog has a high grade fever, it means that they can dehydrate more quickly, this means you need to keep them hydrated even if it means force feeding water. Be prepared to take a few days off work, this pup is going to need round the clock supervision. High grade fevers can also indicate a secondary infection is going on somewhere and usually needs anti biotic to heal.

If you notice a low grade fever, it means your pup is chilled, try to keep him warm by extra blankets in his bed, or placing him near the heat ducts or if you have an electric heater, putting it on low facing him can help as well. You should also warm his water to body temperature. Luke warm water will do. Never offer food or force food to a dog with a low or high fever.

Next check your dogs gums. A well hydrated pup will have nice pink gums. A grey gum can mean intestinal parasites and/or dehydration. When a dog is brought into the clinic with Parvo, they are put on IV fluids, dehydration makes the organs and muscles work harder and can cause failure and then death. Get a syringe and feed small amounts of water over short periods. If your dog is continuously vomiting the fluids you are putting into him, you may have to try and enema fluid. Sounds gross, but you want this dog to live, you're going to do what you have to do. I would HIGHLY recommend calling the vet and asking for directions on this procedure. You really should get some Parvaid and some pedialyte. The pedialyte can be found at any drug store and is fairly cheap. Use this with intervals of water. One dose of water, one dose of pedialyte….

Remember what I have given you here is a recommendation to treat Parvo. I can't see your dog, so I have NO idea if your dog has parvo. Keeping a vomiting puppy hydrated is only common sense. Please try to make arrangements with a vet for a payment plan or some other method of paying. If all else fails, remember you always have the option of surrendering your dog to the SPCA.

Can I ask when you got this dog if it is only 8 weeks old? If it's purebred, how much did you pay for it? Did you realize that dogs cost money?
You need to find the money to get your dog to the vet. You bought the dog, and now you have to take responsibility for it.

If you cannot afford a vet, contact the breeder and see if they will take the puppy back. Good breeders will.

I agree on keeping the puppy as hydrated as humanly possible..

Get a dog without being able to take it to a vet... I just can't believe people some times. Responsibility is a useless word. The dog will probably die without a vet and this is ludicrous. If you didn't have the money for a vet, you should never have got the dog.
