Woke up during night and noticed the well light was going off and on.. In the morning the water from the faucet was dirty and there was air in the lines. I had someone bring water and now cannot get it to prime Any ideas

Sounds exctly like a break or hole in the pipe right above the pump motor. The same pipe that leads into the house and into the water tank. Pump turns on and off because pressure relay switch never detects proper PSI. Sounds like you have some hoisting to do!
