I have a 2002 Hyundai Elentra and probably am not covered for maintenance because I never kept it up.
Anyway, my wipers work from slow to fast but all of a sudden, the first gear of wipers supposed to

Is not urgent since the others work, but is this an expensive thing to fix?

This is probably the wiper motor. Not a difficult thing to replace but I can't tell you how much one would cost. You would need to price it at an auto parts store.
