This washer was put into service in 2006 or 2007. I washed a rug by itself that caused the washer to be unbalanced during the spin cycle. The machine stopped when there was 2 minutes left and would not spin the rug. I took is out and let it air dry. I learned my lesson about washing single heavy things. The next time I washed a regular load of clothes the washer again stopped with 2 minutes left and would not spin. The only way I can get it to spin, and this is only part of the time, is to turn it off, let is drain, turn it back on, and put it on the drain/spin cycle. Sometimes it will spin dry the clothes, and sometimes it won't. I keep thinking there might be a reset button or something easy that will fix this problem. Am I right or do I need to get it serviced?

You can try to unplug it wait one minute, replug it and open and shut the door 6 times pretty quickly and see if it will reset. Its worth a try. I am having the same problem. Its probably a clutch or motor problem
