How to get my 3 month old to take a bottle of breastmilk
My son is 3 months old I have exclusively breastfeed since day one. I have tried to get him to take a pacifier and a bottle of pumped breast milk but he wants nothing to do with either one. I have tried buying different types but he doesn't like any of them. I have even tried making someone else feed him and leaving the house for several thinking that eventually he will get hungry enough to take it but that is not the case.I can not afford to not go back to work. But no one will watch him since all he does is scream and not eat. Do you have any other suggestions on how to get him to eat breast milk from a bottle?

Have you discussed this with the baby's Pediatrician?

I still feel that if you let him go, a little screaming never hurts anyone, and if he gets hungry he will figure it out soon enough

If you can take a week-end, for example, and dedicate it to helping him adjust to the bottle, a few things you can try:

    * Warm the nipple of the bottle under warm water before offering.
    * Express a bit of breastmilk onto the nipple so that he has the initial taste.
    * Offer it when he is not hungry (hard to get a hungry baby to want to try something new when he just wants his meal!).
    * When he is not hungry, sit him more upright on your lap and tickle his mouth with the nipple as you did when first breastfeeding. Try not to "make" him take it. Let it be his doing to take it in his mouth.
    * Offer it when he is sleepy.
    * Distract him with a toy as you offer the bottle.
    * Try offering the breastmilk in a sippy cup instead.
