I started my period on the 7th and ended on the 11th. I had sex on the 22nd and on the 24th I started having a heavy brown discharge that would sometimes be darker or reddish. It lasted exactly 20 days and I'm late 3 days for my regular period. I went to the doctor but she said it was normal and it was probably because of stress. She took a urine pregnancy test anyway but it came back negative. I'm still worried because this has only happened once before and around that time I became pregnant. Unfortunately I had a misscarriage at 14 weeks. This worries me the most because last time I also went to the doctor and took 2 pregnancy tests and they came back negative. I found out I was pregnant when I was 10 weeks. Could I be pregnant or is this really normal like the doctor said?

It can be either, it can be normal or you could be pregnant, You will need to wait and see, if you have not had your regular period in one or two weeks, try a HPT

Is this the same doctor you had when you miscarried? If not, did you explain your fears to this doctor about what happened before?

Yes, it could be normal and due to stress or other factors.

How old are you? Are you on any birth control or other medications that might affect your cycle?

I know it may seem difficult, but can you take your mind off your worries for a few days and see if relaxing will allow your period to start. If it doesn't in the next week, call your doctor again.

Yes, I did explain that to her but she insisted it was normal.

I'm 20 but I haven't been stressed or changed anything about my daily routine that would cause this. I'm not on birth control either. Although my friends and family have been telling me that I look very pale lately.
