When to give up on birth control for acne?
I'm starting my fourth month and my skin is not getting any better. It was TERRIBLE breakouts at first, but now I'm still breaking out which I find ridiculous considering I was put on this (tri sprintec--generic ortho tri cyclen) FOR acne. Do you think my body needs more time to adjust or should I just stop taking this? If I should continue to take it, how long should I take it for?

Check with your dermatoloigist or whoever prescribed it for you.

Have you taken zinc gluconate for the acne?

No, never tried zinc gloconate. I was on doxycycline but that made me vomit and just super sick to my stomach and retin-a did nothing for my persistent mild to moderate acne. It always came back and so I just had red, peeling, burning skin for nothing. Can I take zinc gluconate with the birth control?

Zinc gluconate is a mineral, so I would think so, but check with the doctor or a pharmacist about absorption of the birth control meds. My son started with 22 mg. of zinc gluconate twice a day and began seeing improvements almost immediately.

Here's a site with reviews on zinc gluconate: Zinc gluconate reviews

Also, Google "zinc gluconate acne" (without quote marks).

Let me know if you try it and what happens.
