I had a retail business that I sold 7 years ago. The business kept the same name but is operated by someone else. Now, someone is suing the business and names me on the court summons. The summon says My Name dba Business Name. The process server handed the papers to one of the current employees and the new owners faxed me a copy. I know I could call the suing attorney but would prefer something more formal to protect myself. Also, how valid is this summons for me or the new business owner?
