I have a 3 year old warrant for failure to appear in court.
I was driving with no proof of insurance and received a ticket. I went to court and had it set for a pre trial and planned to return with an attorney.. I never appearred and now have a warrant issued for my arrest. It is in westland Michigan. The warrant is 3 years old. Are they going to lock me up for 90 days or longer and fine me?

    Hello L:

I have NO idea what they're going to do... Nobody can tell you. It's not written in stone. I will say this much; if they catch you, it's going to be worse than if you turned yourself in.

They will lock you up if they catch you, then give you a chance normally to post bail the next day. You will then have to face the court for the old charges if you have not cleared them up, and the new charges for not appearing.

Normally if you hire an attoreny, have them arrange for you to turn yourself in, it works a lot better.
