Im 17 and I want to live with my mom. But my dad has custody of me. I hate my dad and his girlfriend. I don't feel welcome in my own house. And my dad's girlfriends have made me very depressed. My dad doesn't even spend time with me. My mom used to be an alcoholic and that's why my dad got custody of me and my brother. But that 7 years ago and now she's fine. She has a job and has paid off all of her debt. Is there any way that I can take my dad to court so that I can live with my mom? I need to get out of this hell hole.

Your MOTHER can take your father to Court and request a change of custody. You cannot.

Until you turn 18 when you can live with anyone you want, your dad will retain custody unless a court orders otherwise. So your mom needs to file for a change of the custody arrangement.

Depending on when you turn 18, this may happen before it gets through court.
