I live in a house that is 25 years old. In the last 2 years the smell that we get when we turn on the water is foul. Some time it smell like rotten eggs other time it smell like it would have oil mixed in it. I do have a black light and filter in line. When I change the filter there are pice of metal on the bottom. Do I need to have another weel drill or is there something I can do. Can't afford to drill well, both wife and I are on disabilty. If any one can give me some ideas to try, Thank you in advance.

Call in the Health Department at once to check your well. This should cost you nothing. It sounds like it's contaminated. Are or were there factorys in your area? A garage or service ststion? Get it checked AT ONCE! Your families health depends on it. Let me know what they find out. Regards, Tom
