    Sewer ejector pit
Thanks massplumber2008 for your response to my question, gave me a couple of ideas. Another question, can I remove the pit lid and cut thur the pit wall and add a new inlet and then cut concrete for access. If I can, I have no idea what I can use to make the connection with the new drain. The house was built in 1968 and the house is plumbed with pvc but the one drain that I can see coming form the lift is steel(from the washing machine) and will probably not be able to tap into.

Galvanized or cast iron pipe can be cut into and adapted over to PVC (or ABS plastic) so that may be an option for you. Note here, however, that you cannot use the washing machine vent to vent your new tub/shower (not allowed to wet vent anything with a washing machine drain), so you will need to add a vent for the tub/shower and connect it into the washing machine vent a minimum of 48" off the concrete floor (or higher if you pltform the tub/shower).

Glad to discuss if needed, OK, but post your answer here on this thread instead of starting a new thread... just post in the box at the bottom of the page.

    Back to you...
