I have a toilet flange that is raised off the floor on one side and toilet is leaking . Is there a way to fix this problem without having to cut and replace the flange totally

In cases like this you are best to install a urethane reinforced wax gasket... see image.

Here, the inner urethane reinforcement ring keeps the wax from completely squeezing out when you tighten the closet bolts down. This should do the trick... ;)

Thanks, but we tried that and the bolt on that side keeps sliding out.it will not hold cause that side is tilted upwards and the bolt does not hold.

The flange is installed improperly or broken then as there should be a SLOT that the bolt slides into and holds.

If you have a broken slot they make a repair flange... called a spanner flange (see image)... that gets set in under the broken parts of the flange and will hold the bolt nicely. You'll need to bend the bolt a bit to straighten it good for the toilet installation.

If this is a flange that simply has a spot for the bolt and it keeps sliding up/out you'll want to secure the bolt to the flange first using a washer and a nut... crank the nut real hard to get a good tight grip on the flange... then bend the bolt to straighten it (tighten a bit again) and then try setting the toilet again.

Do NOT overtighten the toilet nut after setting the toilet down.

That's my thoughts...
