I have 3 kittens who are just about 3 months old. A local organization is holding a "spay day" next weekend and they are able to spay and micro chip my kittens. They have told me that early spaying is very safe and can sometimes even be better than waiting. I have read similar reports online. I'm just wondering if anyone has personal experience with the early spay/neuter procedure. I am plannoing on doing it but it's always good to get more opinions. Thanks a lot!

The breeder of our cats suggested doing it at 6 month of age so that's what we did, but I know people do it when they are 6 weeks old, I think this is a little bit cruel.

Females can breed from about 6 months of age, so if they go outside and can roam the neighbourhood I'd get them done sooner rather than later as they can sometimes reach their maturity for motherhood early.
