My house is 100 years old. When I use my bathroom toilet and shower there is a tiny leak of water coming out of the cement wall around the cast iron pipe. The pipe runs straight down from the second floor. Is there a way to run a liner inside the waste pipe and not have to cut or replace the cast iron pipe. I can't see where the leak is but is must be a tiny hole with how little water is leaking out. Any suggestions to fix this problem would be appreciated.

I'd carefully chip away the concrete to see if the problem is bigger. The existing concrete may be covering a larger hole. If you find it is a very small hole, clean the area and use a good grade epoxy, JB Weld for example. However, 1 hole usually indicates the potential for more to develop.

No way I can chip away the cement. I was hoping I could attack the pipe from the inside by taking off the toilet. Pipe goes straight down from second floor bathroom. Pipe leaks into basement when you use the shower. Toilet and sink. Leak must be in the down pipe since I don't have any ceiling damage.

Then you would most likely need to open the vertical wall and investigate further... no getting around that, you know?

There is no liner available for these cases as any liners require the pipe to be open at the start and end where the new liner can be pulled through so that is not even reasonable here in terms of time and cost, OK?

Open the wall high to start and then low if needed.. should find the leak pretty quick, overall!
