Hey, I'm 5 months pregnant and I have a problem. I'm not sure if it's a serious problem or not, but I have been bleeding/spotting on and off today. It's dark red, not heavy, and I have small thin blood clots. Is this a serious problem?

I don't think so... I believe its because you are getting near the time when your body is getting ready to have the baby... but if you are having pain then it think you should call the doctor or go to the hospital =s

Have you had recent intercourse or a pelvic exam? That will sometimes result in spotting over the next day or two. Regardless, it would be smart to let your doctor or midwife know.

Sometimes spotting or light bleeding will occur towards the end as your cervix starts to thin out, but it is too early for that to begin at this point in your pregnancy. Even then, you would need to have it checked to make sure that is the cause and not due to a concern with the placenta, for example.
