Turning remote ceiling fans on electrical switch?
Hi All, I bought a hampton bay ceiling fan that comes with a wall mount remote but I want to switch the wall remote to the wall switch so I can flick the light on with just the regular wall switch. Is this possible to do without hiring an electrician or do I need professional help. Deb

Here is the bigger issue. Your fan also has a receiver in the canopy, if you don't use the remote the receiver is going to stay dead. You can remove the receiver but then you likely have only one set of hot wires to the fan so your wall switch will turn on the fan and the light, can't separate them. Still want to do this?? I'd install it exactly like the box says. Your wall mounted remote will do what you need it to do.
