I have been a green card holder since May 5 2006. I returned back to my home country 3 months after that around Jul/August 2006 but after I had applied for a travel permit.
I returned back to to the states on April 15 2008 and I have not left the states since then. Am I eligible to apply for the citizenship in 4 years and 1 day so on April 2012 or will I have to wait 4 years and 9 months till Jan 2013?
If not why can't I apply after 4 years and 1 day and what requirements did I not meet.
