I'm about to begin building a 2000 sq ft home and I wanted to know how many 2x4's and 2x6's would be needed?

Ranch? Split level? Colonial? Something else?

Souther traditional 1 story

Would need to know the lay out of house with size of rooms. Is it on a slab? What is pitch of roof. Size and locations of doors and windows.

This would only give u the basic number of studs needed.

guest bath- 10x12

wic for master bath- 8x8

Not knowing how the layout is, can not give number of studs of inside walls.

For outside walls add depth plus width, multiply by 2, divide by 4, multiply 3. Then add 10% for waste. This will give u number of studs needed for outside walls. Do not know if your area requires 2x6 or 2x4 studding. This would be on blueprint.

I have attached a plan that will be similar the numbers that I had given will be the numbers used

Am unable to give ceiling beams or rafters. U would find their size on blueprint.
