First Mark and Tom Thanks for the help with the vanity(and everyone else of course)Everything is in and running great, BUT now I have another question. The tub is in but I have not duro-rocked this yet. My wife has decided she want's a hand held shower head as well as the regular shower head. She purchased a american standard R110SS mixing valve and they recommended the R701 on/off volume control for the handheld. I am just not seeing how this will work and they only supply the rough in dimensions. Any help would be appreciated.

I've never used the american standard diverter and quite frankly, I don't see how that volume control will really work well here because it looks like it will only allow you to divert to the hand-held and we can do better than that here!

I'd recommend the symmons 3-port diverter valve (4-460) for your installation as it will allow you to use shower only, hand-held only or when wanted, both the shower head and the hand-held unit at the same time... ;)

I'd check with the local plumbing supply store on pricing and also note here that the symmons diverter has real good instructions, but you need to read them as I remember that the right hand port has to be plugged off for everything to work as I presented.

Otherwise, wait for the other guys to pop in... maybe someone has installed the diverter you are using and can help more here, OK?

You can also call american standard on Monday if you really want to use their product.

In addition to Mark's advice: there are several ways you can accomplish that. You can: Add on shower head / hand held fixture ( retrofit / pic #1 ) or Rough it in with 2 dedicated mixing valves or rough it in with single control valve ( pic #2) + with 2 volume control valves ( pic.3).
