    Graphics card prevents startup
I have a Nvidia geforce FX 5600 graphics card... It has been working fine with my computer up until a month ago and it keeps getting worse. At first in games the graphics would completely mess up and now I can't even start my computer with the card pluged in.
If I have the card pluged in my mouse, keyboard and screen aren't read... and nothing starts up. If I pop out the card then everything starts up fine. Sometime it still works with the graphics card, but it takes up to 10 restarts for the computer to read the screen.
    What could be the problem?
    Is the card just fried?
    Time for a new card?

P.S the fan also stopped spinning on the card. If that is any indication of anything.

Hmm, I see that the problem you mentioned in the other thread is still happening.:)

If the fan on the video card stopped spinning, most definitely the graphics processor will overheat. The first time, you probably won't see any change in performance, but after a few times, the processor becomes "stressed" leading to those problems you've described.

The card is fried or will soon be. Buy a new one. Decent ones are reasonably priced nowadays.
